You’ve heard the myths – now let’s look at what the facts tell us.

“Hypnosis is not mind control. It’s a naturally occurring state of concentration; it’s actually a means of enhancing your control over both your mind and your body. Hypnotic subjects are fully awake and focused (hyper-focused) with a corresponding decrease in their peripheral awareness.” -David Spiegel, M.D., Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, Stanford University School of Medicine

Does being hypnotized make you lose control over what you say and do, or surrender control to someone else?
No - that is simply not possible.  Stage hypnotism (as seen on TV shows or in entertainment productions) is merely for show and entertaining purposes. However, these theatrical displays have greatly misguided the perception of what hypnosis really is. Stage hypnotist’s interview and evaluate their volunteers and then choose those who are willing and eager to participate with potential showoff tendencies.  It is for entertainment value only, and unfortunately, has largely misinformed the general public about the true value of legitimate hypnosis. In truth, stage hypnotism is not a portrayal in any way of Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Do you lose consciousness or lose recollection of the Clinical Hypnotherapy sessions?

No - clients remember everything that occurs during hypnosis – in fact, they experience a heightened level of awareness. In the state of hypnosis, you will remember everything you say or do and will be in control at all times.  At no time will you be "under my control as the hypnotist." I am here to guide and coach to help you toward your goals and that cannot be forced onto someone.  Hypnosis is a natural human condition - truthfully, we each experience hypnosis several times a day.  Ever drive somewhere on a freeway that you drive on all the time, deep in thought about something, and then realize that you missed your turn-off long after your exit passed?  That’s hypnosis!  You already know how to do it naturally. Positive, substantial, self-driven change and emotional breakthroughs occur through Clinical Hypnotherapy.

More About Clinical Hypnotherapy:

Clinical Hypnotherapy can be highly effective in achieving a specific outcome, letting go of something not serving you to be your ideal self, or moving through past hurts or traumas. In essence, it is a tool that allows you to live the life you see as your personal best!  Each hypnosis session is highly individualized to meet your specific needs. I spend a great deal of time hearing you, listening to your goals, and getting to understand your dreams.

When was the last time you felt truly HEARD? Full out heard - with no one cutting you off, or telling you how to fix it, giving you an example of what they went through, or not validating your true feelings?  I will give you the floor to be heard, judgement free, until we get to the source of your blocks, before we even start hypnosis.

*Hypnotherapy can be a compliment to your doctor prescribed treatment. Please communicate with your doctor to ensure that hypnotherapy is beneficial for you if you are under the care of a doctor or therapist for a psychological matter; or currently taking medication for the issue you are seeking help with.  A doctor’s release to seek hypnotherapy as a compliment to your doctor’s treatment will be requested.
